Hi

we have upgraded event Espresso 3 to 4 and after upgrading it will display properly in front end but in admin area it shows me blank screen of events and registration page.

I have enable debug line in wp_config file and it display errors below:

Notice: load_plugin_textdomain was called with an argument that is deprecated since version 2.7 with no alternative available. in /home3/mynewweb/public_html/tmf/wp-includes/functions.php on line 6639

Can you please look in to this issue as it is urgent.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Ryan,

The above error refers to a WordPress core function that has not been coded correctly, as it is missing the second argument “FALSE”.

I have checked EE 4.4.5 and can confirm that the function is requested twice and both times it has been requested correctly, so it would appear that EE is not causing this but merely showing the symptoms.

Can you please try disabling all other plugins except EE and see if the issue resolves? If it does, please re-activate the plugins one by one and test for the problem each time.

If it does not, please try swapping to a default theme such as Twentytwelve (you can test it without changing theme by using the Theme Test Drive plugin) as this will confirm or rule out the theme being an issue.

Also after upgrading to event espresso this pages get blank:

admin.php?page=espresso_registrations
admin.php?page=espresso_events
admin.php?page=espresso_transactions

I can not access this pages in admin area

can you please look into this issue.

Thanks.

What version of EE4 are you using?
What version of WordPress are you using?
Did you also disable all other plugins?

Hi Ryan,

When you say you updated manually, how did you do this?

Via FTP and overwriting the current files? or did you delete the version of EE you has installed first and then upload the new version?

Yes, I have downloaded EE 4.4.5 and uploaded via FTP and overwriting the current files. I have not deleted the old files but overwrited the old files.

Hi,

Via FTP please delete Event Espresso completely. Then download a copy of the latest EE 4 via your account page and install the plugin via the WordPress Add New Plugin screen.

This should give you a completely fresh copy.

In future it’s advised to use the auto update feature or completely delete and reinstall the plugin, as overwriting via FTP can cause issues if there is a small break in connectivity (corrupt files).

just want to confirm deleting old files may not delete data of events and registration of events?

Correct, but we always recommend backing up first! (it’s a safety net)

Hi,

The events in the events overview screen within your WP dashboard is shown in reverse chronological order where new events appear before old events. You can click on the event start heading to switch it:
