It means something jumped in an flushed permalinks too early in the request, before Event Espresso added its rewrite rules into the mix, when means WordPress no longer knows what to do with the event URL’s and you get a 404.
As a one-off its not something to be concerned about, however, if this continues to happen we can start troubleshooting further. I know from doing so on other sites that it can be tricky to find the cause but we can help worth through and see what we can find.
