When users submit the registration for our event, they are directed to a “Not Found” page. We have checked to make sure the page has the correct [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] code and that it is not duplicated anywhere. We have also cleared the permalinks to try to ensure it is referencing the correct page. However, when we click on attendees, the registrations are actually being submitted. |

I neglected to put what version we have and our website URL. WordPress Version: |
Hi Brian, I’m not certain if that is the cause here but we do not recommend Windows based hosting. Our testing and development is done on Apache or Nginx. https://eventespresso.com/requirements/ There are three other shortcodes, each being on a WordPress page that help with registrations. Can you confirm that those pages are published publicily? — |
We are hosting on the same site that we hosted on a year ago and had no issues with so I don’t believe it to be a Windows hosting issue. The other 3 shortcodes are published publicly. |

Hi, Can you try “flushing” your permalinks, by going to Settings > Permalinks and pressing save. You could also try swapping to the Post Name permalink type. |
We tried flushing them yesterday and it made no change, so we tried the post name setting and it also made no difference. We reverted back to the standard setting yesterday, but just attempted the post name permalink again and it is still not working. |
We have a token for “Basic Install with Configuration”. Should we go ahead and use that so that someone can actually get on and look? |
Hi Brian, You’re welcome to send in the credentials via the Basic Install form and support staff can take a look. It may help to change the page URL to a different page to handle the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode page. It looks like something on your server is breaking the redirect. One other thing, when this was working a year ago, was the site using the default WordPress permalinks at the time? The reason I ask is because if it was changed since then to use the postname permalinks, that would explain why it worked for you then and not now. |
We were previously using the default permalink and only changed it to test and see if it would solve the issue. I have set it back to default now. I tested another new page that I created with only the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode on the page but it still did not function. What page should they be seeing after they hit the submit button to register? |
The main registration page. When you made a new page, did you change the main registration page setting to point to the new page? |
Yes I updated it and also re-saved the permalinks after making the change. I just tested and turned the skip confirmation page after registration to yes and the page took a longer amount of time before the not found appeared, but I did get a confirmation e-mail this time. |
Hi Brian, Can you go to Event Espresso -> System Status. Within that page, does it show your ‘Session save path’ as writeable? Can you check your servers error logs and see if any fatal errors are being thrown? When you submit the registration you should still see the same page: http://integrated.eastnoble.net/?page_id=891 If the ‘Skip Confirmation’ setting is set to No you’ll see a confirmation page like this – http://take.ms/E4Z4a If not you see your payment options like this – http://take.ms/ds2sq However all of that information is actually all still being displayed within the same page: http://integrated.eastnoble.net/?page_id=891 So we are getting a 404, for a page that we have just recently visited without issue. How did you update Event Espresso? Manually via FTP or using 1 click updates? I suspect this is a server configuration issue, we have seen some very strange issues with Windows servers (not only with EE, but WordPress itself) and have previously seen users spend many hours trying to work through those issues, only to switch to a linux based server and have no problems at all, then other users seem to have no problems with the same (or very similar) setups. |
