Completely new to WP and EE, I have basic web building knowledge and volunteer to try and make EE work for our business.

I started following the instructions by watching the EE$ install video and was stopped dead when I tried to upload your plugin to WordPress. Your video shows an add button but WP does not have an add button present in the same spot. Right across under all their plugins is this message “Uploading your own plugins is not available on WordPress.com”
The EE video suggests that it can be done so what am I missing do I need to upgrade my WP to a premium account to see that addon button? I would rather not is there a work around?

Please help

Hello,

From your feedback, you are using the hosted version of WordPress on WordPress.com.

Event Espresso needs the self-hosted version of WordPress to run.

Check out Event Smart:

https://eventsmart.com

It is a hosted version of Event Espresso.
