Hello,
I want to upload translation of POEDIT via FTP but don’t have directory /wp-content/uploads/espresso/. I created it and subdirectory languages, but it doesn’t work as described.
Please help.

Hi there,
What is the full filename of the MO file you are using on the site?
Can you also post the full path to that file, it should be:
/wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages/
Not having those directories may mean you site doesn’t have permissions to write to that directory (it should).

I adjusted the write option via FTP. Thanks.
These are the paths to the files:

https://events.akram-vignan.de/wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages/event-espresso-4-de_DE.po
Translation still doesn’t work.
Please advise.

Can you check the permissions on the languages directory, please.
Notice how if you go here: https://events.akram-vignan.de/wp-content/uploads/espresso/
Your told you don’t have permission to access, likely through the .htaccess file.
But if you go here:
https://events.akram-vignan.de/wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages/
You’ll get a 404, which should be the case.
It looks like EE can’t access that directory/file to load the translations.

The languages directory also has a write permission.
`.htaccess1 – don’t know what it is.
If I go here https://events.akram-vignan.de/wp-content/uploads/espresso/ I get a message “You are not permitted to read from this folder”.
If I go here https://events.akram-vignan.de/wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages/ I do get 404 error.
Both have via FTP settings of 777 – also write permission.
Please help. Thanks in advance.

htaccess1 was a typo, it should have been.htaccess` (edited now)
Did you check with your host that your site has the correct permissions?
Clicking on either of the links you provided above should download the file rather than direct you to a 404 page, so something is not correct within the /languages/ directory.

Thanks. Solved it using the right FTP user. The other one was linked to a backup site.
