I have a current EE$ license and need to update the core and some plugins on a subdomain. I only use EE4 on this subdomain but the license is for the main domain. How can I update without losing all my events and tickets?

Hi,

If you’re familiar with how to update plugins on WordPress multisite, you’ll know that you’ll log in to the WordPress admin with a super admin account, then go to Network > Plugins and click the link to update.

With regards to your events and tickets, those are stored in the site’s database. When you update the Event Espresso 4 plugin, the WordPress plugin updater removes the old version’s files and replaces with the new version’s files. The updater does not remove your events and tickets, because those are stored in the database.

I’m familiar with the multisite plugin upgrade. It’s still saying I have an invalid license after I paid an hour or so ago and to go to the site to upgrade.

Hi,

Usually if you’ve just renewed you’ll need to go to the main site’s Event Espresso > General Settings page, and hit the Save button. Saving that page will force a license key check. Then you can go to Network Dashboard > Plugins to do the updates.
