Hello,
I have Version 4.4.0.p installed on a site that I have been building since last September. I’ve added events and done some customizations related to hiding certain info via CSS and changing some wording to make it work for my clients needs.

I have a license, but have not entered the registration key yet, because I think I recall reading that it’s suggested to wait until we are on the live URL to do that. However, I would like to be up and running with the latest version of EE4 before I launch.

How can I go about upgrading without losing what I’ve done so far? I know it’s hard for you to answer that without knowing EXACTLY what I did. I realize there’s a risk of losing some work but I also prefer not to have to remove the old version and upgrade. I’d like to be able to upgrade it as a plugin. How do I do that without first setting the support key on our development site. We’ll be going live in less than a week if the upgrade goes ok.

Hi, if the site isn’t activated, then you would need to manually update by removing the plugin and uploading and activating the latest version via WordPress Plugins:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/updating-event-espresso/#update_manually

The process between a manual upgrade and a one-click upgrade is similar in that the core plugin folder is removed and replaced.

Did you make any changes to the core plugin folder here?

Thank you for your response Lorenzo.
I don’t believe any changes were made the the folder you mentioned, so I went ahead with the delete and re-install. Everything looks to be working still, I only have one error message on the edit event page, below Event Tickets & Dateimes. It reads;

Warning: usort() expects parameter 2 to be a valid callback, no array or string given in /home/tsamac/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/caffeinated/admin/new/pricing/espresso_events_Pricing_Hooks.class.php on line 705

Any thoughts on that?

Hi Mike, I’m not seeing that warning appear on my testing sites:

Do you have WordPress debugging on?

If so, could you turn that off via your wp-config.php file by using this macro (should replace any existing debugging macros) in this link?

Hi, PHP warnings and notices will appear if some form of debugging is enabled.

Did you try updating the macro in the wp-config.php file?
