Hi – I’m having a few issues since I upgraded this morning.
Many thanks for your help – |
Hi Jennifer, Can you try deactivating and reactivating Event Espresso? It doesn’t sound like the database was fully updated on the update to .28. |
Hi, Jonathan – I already tried that. Jennifer |
Also, check for old templates in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates. If you have modified templates in there, they need to be updated to the new template files included with the current version of the plugin. If you haven’t made any modifications to the templates, these can be removed. If you are not sure if there were modifications made to these files, back these up or rename that folder just in case. |
If I replace my templates, what happens to all the customizations that I’ve made? |
Hi Jennifer, You can copy your customizations over to the new templates. |
Hi, Josh – I did that before, but I’ll try again. What about the default questions not displaying? Also, the Events Overview does not sort by date – I thought that was a new feature in the upgrade? Thanks – |
Hi Jennifer, Just checking in. I notice that the default questions are now working. Is the sort by date working for you in the dashboard? I have it working here on my test site. |
Hi, Dean – The default questions are displaying because I manually added them to the question groups. Before the upgrade, they populated automatically. I can sort the dates by month but not year, and even this is not the default. The default sort appears random, and if I click on the column header to sort, it starts with January 2013. Thanks – Jennifer |

Hello Jennifer, Is it possible to get your login details in order to look into this? If so, please send them via https://eventespresso.com/contact/ Choose the “I am sending login info as requested” option and fill out the form |

Hello Jennifer, OK I see what you mean about the dates, having December 2012 come after January 2013 is a bit odd. Regarding the questions. I didn’t have access to an admin login, but I see that the questions aren’t populating there. I will refer both of these to the developers to look into. |
Hi, Me again. Sorry. Is it possible to get admin level access to your site? I have just been playing around some more with the upgrade and I am needing some more info about how the users and permissions are set up as I could not recreate the question issue. |
Hi, Dean – I just submitted log in info again via the contact form. The question issue is strange, but at least I can get around it by adding questions. It’s really the event list dates that’s more bothersome. Thanks again – Jennifer |
Hi Jennifer – |
Yes. Events are not in any sort of chronological order. The default is April x, 2013, and if you click the column to sort, it starts with January 2, 2013. I would love to get this resolved, so thanks muchly for looking into it. Jennifer |
Hi Jennifer, I’m sorry that this support request slipped through the cracks. I’m unable to view the full admin with the credentials you sent. Can you check the Date Time settings on the WordPress>Settings>General screen and let us know what date, time and time zone settings are being used there so we can further investigate? |

Hi, Josh – Thanks so much for your reply; I would love to have this problem resolved. Here’s a shot of out date, time, and time zone settings: http://www.brookfieldlibrary.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/WP-Time-Settings.png Thanks again! Jennifer |
I wonder if it’s sorting by day of the week, first. Can you try the month, day, year option and see if that is the issue? |
Hi, Sidney – I do believe that fixed it! One other question, is it possible to have the events list start with the current day, rather than with events that have already expired? Many thanks! Jennifer |
Hi Jennifer, Are the “already expired” events still set to be open for registration? If you look in the event editor, they’ll be a “Registration End Date”. Is the registration end date set to date that is after the event was scheduled? |
Hi, Josh – At the latest, registration for our events end on the day of the event. They are all marked as closed. Thanks – |
What is the shortcode that is being used to display the event list? |
On which page? We have several different pages with event lists. Jennifer |
The page that is displaying events that are not open for registration. |
I’m referring to the Events Overview page. |
Okay, can you go in to edit that page and find the shortcode that is in the editor, copy, then paste that shortcode into a reply on this thread so I can investigate further? |
I’m not talking about a specific page. I’m talking about the Events Overview page in the WP Dashboard where you can go in to edit events, see attendees, etc. But, the shortcode on our main events page that the public sees is [EVENT_LIST category_identifier=all-events events_per_page=6]. |
