I am updating the tocift.org theme to Divi. I am using a staging site set up in a folder on the website itself. I want to make sure that when I transfer the site back that my custom coding for the registration page and the custom ticket, etc. won’t be altered. I did clone the site to the folder, so I assume it should still be there when I put it back.
I have a month to get everything working on the site, so please also review my last two support topics. We were unable to get those topics fully sorted before the last event. Tony had expressed that he wanted to work on the ticket issue.
If you’re using a child theme or custom plugin, then that wont be affected. But if you use different theme, then your child theme wont work on that, that includes the customize code you might added on your function.php
Can I get Tony to talk with me about this? He is familiar with the tocift.org site. I am using a child theme, and the new site is being built on a child as well. I just need to be sure.
He had also expressed an interest in helping me with the custom ticket problem I was having last year before the event. We were not able to solve the issue that was on my end. He updated the ticket for me. We need to work on that for this year’s event.
I’ve never switched a theme before, so I’m very nervous about it. I want to be sure I’m doing everything I can not to mess up the custom edits that our php coder did. I don’t have him anymore and I would hate to have to find someone new.
Thanks.
