Hi,

Just need some advice on how best to proceed, please.

We are upgrading from EE3 to EE4, but have had some customisation done. We have a developer in place to handle the migration including the new development.

We do not want to update the site due to concerns of functionality of the old customisation successfully migrating to EE4. So, is there a way to give the developer access to EE4 (once we purchase it) so that they can carry out all the new development (on their development server) and then load the entire new site onto our server?

We are currently running EE3 business, so which EE4 licence matches that most closely?

Thanks
Angus

Hi Angus,

As an EE3 License holder you already have access to EE4 for this very reason, we want you to have the option to update when your ready.

We do not want to update the site due to concerns of functionality of the old customisation successfully migrating to EE4. So, is there a way to give the developer access to EE4 (once we purchase it) so that they can carry out all the new development (on their development server) and then load the entire new site onto our server?

Yes, does your developer have access to your account here?

If so they can download EE4 from your account page (or you can download it and send it over to them) and they can install EE4 on their development server. They will need to leave the license key field blank within Event Espresso -> General Settings and update EE manually on that server but there is no issue with doing so.

We are currently running EE3 business, so which EE4 licence matches that most closely?

The EE4 Everything license is the license that matches the EE3 Business License the closest. That license provides access to all EE4 Add-ons.

If you have any further questions please do let us know.
