I am running Version 2.2.4 of the Event Calendar and Version 3.1.36.5 of the core Event plugin. I need to update my site to the newest versions of both plugins. I’d like to be running EE4. I’ve downloaded all of the current versions of the plugins to my desktop. My question is what version of the calendar do I need to be running to be able to run the newest version of the core plugin? How would you suggest I update the calendar plugin so it is compatible with the core EE4 plugin? Thanks!

Hi Alison,
Before updating be sure you have a Full Site Back (Including all files but especially the Database)
Updating to EE4 in a nutshell involves de-activating EE3 (and all EE3 Add-on’s) then uploading EE4 and the EE4 Add-on’s using Plugins -> Add New -> Upload.
Within your account page you’ll find 2 sections, one for EE3 (Green) and one for EE4 (Blue). The blue downloads are EE4 and EE4 Compatible Add-on’s only. The Green downloads are EE3 and EE3 Compatible downloads. (Each Add-on is only compatible with its own section – EE3 Add-ons only work with EE3, EE4 only with EE4 etc)
So to answer your question you’ll need EE4 Calendar v3.1.0.p which works with EE4 4.4.0.p

Have you tested EE4 previously? The reason I ask is it is a vastly different system EE3, generally we recommend cloning the site to a dev server or locally (you can use a plugin such as Duplicator to make this easier) and updating there first, so that you can see how the site will work with EE4.
