Updating to EE 3.1.36.5

I get this error when I try updating EE to version 3.1.36.5

An error occurred while update Event Espresso: Auto updates are not available for this theme. If this is an Elegant Themes theme, then you must re-download from the member’s area and re-install it in order to update to the latest version.

This error has never occurred before. I also tested updating the plugin in our staging environment and this error did not occur. Do I just need to request a reset of the token for the EE since the same token is being used for the staging?

Hi Rosemarie,

It turns out that a support license key can be used for one site. If you want to test updating on staging that’s fine, but you’ll need to manually update to staging -or- use the 1-click update on staging, then push the changes to live using version control. Either way, the key should be set on one site to avoid issues like this one.

Please remove the key from one of the sites and follow up with us here when it’s ready, and we’ll reset the key.
