Hi,

I am currently hosting my EE3 site on a development server (and haven’t activated my license key). WordPress has issued a security update to v4.2.2. Is there anyway I can update EE3 without activating the license or should I go ahead and activate then request a reset when the site is moved to the live hosting?

Thanks,

Elaine

Hello Elaine,

The simplest way is to use the license key on the dev server, then request a reset (you don’t have to pay to move to live). We can reset the key, then you can move it to the live server.

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks. Will do.

For future reference, it’s ideal if you can forgo the licence key activation on a development server and manually update the plugin – we understand this is not always possible, but it is the ideal situation, the licence key can then be used solely for the live site.
