Updated EE4. Now the entire plugin is missing

There was an update available for EE4 today, so we updated it – and now, the entire Event Espresso plugin is missing. There were no errors during the update process, WordPress said all updates were installed, and yet Event Espresso is completely gone. We had registration live and open for our event. What can I do? Is all our event and registration info lost???

Hi Daniel,

Your event and registration info is stored in the database, which is separate from the Event Espresso plugin files. So if you can verify that Event Espresso is no longer installed the files can be re-installed.

Hi Josh, I’ll attempt a re-install. If it is unable to be reinstalled because files do exist somewhere, what is safe to delete? Thank you.

If the files do exist somewhere, then you should probably FTP in and check the files.

It is safe to delete the Event Espresso files in the wp-content/plugins folder, which should all be in the event-espresso-core-reg folder.

Josh – I had to delete some files that were left over somehow, but I got the system re-installed and it’s up and running like normal. Thanks for your help!

Hi Daniel, were there leftover files from the old version?

Then you removed those and installed a new copy of the plugin?
