Yesterday I updated the stripe gateway add on and it cause my site to crash, I disabled the stripe gateway and everything is working again. I am running version 4.9.59.rc.000 I suspect this is why. So I went to download the latest version but the current version I have is called: event-espresso-core-master and when I get the newest version, the folder says: event-espresso-core-reg Is there a difference? Also I cannot seem to be able to upgrade the plugin through my wp admin I already followed all the steps and it si not working.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi there,

rc.000 are release candidate versions and that combined with the directory name ending in master means your using a version from the githut repo rather than the start ‘release’ version.

Those .rc version don’t update using our system as its then expected you are using some form of version control to manually control this.

Did a developer install Event Espresso for you?

Before going forward create a backup of the site (at least a database backup, if not a full site backup).

If you want to use the standard update system with ‘release’ versions you’ll need to de-activate the current version of EE you are using and then install the latest version downloaded from your account page. Install that through Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add new -> Upload plugin.

That will be version 4.10.10.p.

Once you’ve installed that version activate it and EE will likely go into maintenance mode, follow the steps to migrate and you’ll then have the latest version installed.

You can then delete the .RC version from your site (you don’t need both, they are the same thing just that RC version is now ‘old’).
