I purchased a Personal Support License and paypal smart payment button. the issue i am having is that i cannot integrate it to my current site. i was speaking with some one here who said i need to update my website “Theme” to be able to use EE4. i lost most os my email and i cannot reach the person i was speaking with. Go daddy said they can update my site theme. My question is if i update my theme, will EE4 work.

Do you have a staging site where you can test using Event Espresso 4/5 before installing on your live site?

Hi I GoDaddy have created a staging site where we can test EE4. What do I need to do to get this going please. This is critical please 🙏

Hi there,

Just to clarify, have GoDaddy cloned your current site to staging?

So you have all of your current themes, plugins, events etc running on the staging site you can see what EE4 looks/works like on that site?

That’s correct. GoDaddy has has cloned the current site (themes plugin, event etc) to staging site

OK, so to test EE4 on the clone site, first create a database backup.

Then you need to deactivate EE3.

Install EE5 on that site and activate it.

It will run through a migration script to pull in your EE3 data over to EE5, run through all of the migration onscreen instructions to migrate over (basically just click next on each migration step).

Then you will be running EE5 and can see what needs to be updated within your site for it to work from there.

The migration system is designed so that you can do it yourself with just a few clicks. But if you want us to do it for you then you’ll need to purchase a support token.

You can redeem your support token by going to your account page, and there you’ll see a link to redeem your token. The link will take you to a form that you can complete so support staff can access your site.
