Received notice to update to Event Espresso 5.0.3.p. It failed. Is there a 5.0.3.p updated that needs to be successfully installed? Site still showing version 5.0.0.p |
Hi there, We have identified an issue with some server setups when using version 5.0.0-5.0.2 which prevents the on-click updates from working and have included a fix in v5.0.3 but it does mean you’ll need to manually update on this occasion. Download the latest .zip from your account page. On the site again go to Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add New -> Upload Plugin. Select the .zip you just download and upload. WordPress should tell you the plugin already exists and ask if you want to replace it. Confirm the plugins match (other than the version number) and select to replace it. Now you’re on version 5.0.3 (The above issue should not happen again with 5.0.3+) |

Many Thanks. |
You’re most welcome and the same to you 🙂 |

Trying to use the search field in the Event Espresso-Events-Overview page. Doing a search freezes up the page. |
Can’t use bulk delete on older events, it freezes up the screen. Can’t delete an individual event, it freezes up the screen. |
I’ve just tested all of those functions on a couple of test sites and I’m not having any issues. How many events do you have? What type of hosting are you using? If you check the server’s error logs, any errors from around the time the above happens? |
On Bluehost, WP site with a Fluida Plus theme 1.8.8. Bulk delete not working, single event delete not working, screens freeze up. Not sure how to check the server’s error logs. Calendar page won’t open, switched it to draft at this point. |
Have 258 events, but trying to delete old ones, see above comment. |
Its sounds more like a database issue with the host than an issue with Event Espresso itself. All of the actions you are referring to where the screen freezes are when queries run on the DB. If this was something within EE itself everyone would be in the same situation. Can you check with your host for any server-side issues? |
I did that with Bluehost about an hour ago. They are saying that it’s the plugin |
Of course they are, but then they have no idea what it is within the plugin, just ‘the plugin’… right? Hmm, ok. So did this just start happening after an update or just randomly? |
k, thanks. I’ll go to Bluehost support for the database connection issue |
It did start happening after the 5.0.3 update. |
If they can see any errors being thrown I can investigate further, or I can send you a copy of 4.10.46 for you to install. If that version suddenly works we can compare the difference on the request to see if anything stands out. |
They’ve downgraded the WP install to WordPress 6.1.1, still not working. Back on customer support with them. I may need to downgrade. Get back shortly. |

Bluehost support relinked the site to the A database, fixed another error, dns pointing. EE version 5.0.3 now working with WP 6.2. Issues resolved now, thanks for guidance! |
Awesome, I’m glad it’s working. |
