Hi dmc,

I would advise creating a full site backup and updating manually on this occasion.

Start by making a full backup (all files and the database), there are plenty of plugins available for this, just be sure to have a Full site backup.

Once you have a backup, first go to You Account Page and download the latest version of EE4.

Then on your site go to Dashboard -> Plugins.

De-activate and delete Event Espresso.

Then upload the new version of EE4 you have just downloaded through Plugins -> Add new -> Upload Plugin.

Active EE4 and you should then be using the latest version of EE4.

Ok, will all the current EE4 events, prices etc be lost?
or is there a way to retain them and recover them?

Deleting the plugin will only delete the files. The data, such as events, prices, etc will remain intact within the database.

that worked like a charm

thanks Seth
