Yesterday the upcoming events were displaying and today they are not. Nothing had been updated in between yesterday and today. We updated to Version 4.4.8.p but it did not fix the problem. Can you please point us in the correct direction to start troubleshooting the problem? We tried turning off all plugins and turning them back on. http://www.scicu.org and they should be showing up on the home page middle and on the left sidebar here: http://www.scicu.org/events-2/

Hi Stephenie,

I just progressed through the calendar that is on the page and did not see any events.

Can you confirm that you have at least one event that is published and upcoming?

Apparently all the dates and registrants have been wiped out of the Event Espresso. We only have the e-mails that were sent to confirm registrations. Not sure how this happened but it appears that several of the tables are corrupt.

Ok – I see in the error_log numerous errors related to wp_options crashing. It appears that the events are still in the database but the dates for them have been reset and all the registrations are wiped out. We have an e-mails for them but we cannot find anything else on the site missing. It seemed to have only affected the registrant data and dates for events.

sorry to keep posting but the entire wordpress crashed before I posted this and I had to run a repair from the browser. The main message from the repair was
Error: 1 client is using or hasn’t closed the table properly
When someone logs into WordPress to edit one of the events, it says that it is locked by scicu and they won’t be able to edit it if they take over. The other event can be edited fine and all the others say no data available which I assume means it was all lost. The last backup we have was from the end of November. Haven’t had this happen to a WordPress installation one time in years.

Hi, on the last message, another user was editing the event so this will prevent you from editing that event unless you take it over.

Could you run a repair through PHPMyAdmin (usually accessible through cpanel or a hosting panel area)?

https://www.siteground.com/tutorials/phpmyadmin/phpmyadmin_optimize_database.htm

Also, could you share a screenshot of your widget settings? That screenshot can be uploaded via WP media or you could use a service like getcloudapp.com or tinygrab.com.

I’d like to check that its not set to show a specific category that doesn’t currently have events associated with it:

Already repaired what we had in phpadmin (this is the web person now, Judy, not Stephanie!) backed it up before we did it but cannot find any registration information in there.

thanks for the widget screen shot. We had it set to events instead of display all when we were troubleshooting.

Also – I have a backup of the database from last month. I am trying to recreate the information lost for some of the events, including the attendees that have registered. Which table is the pricing for the event stored and which would be for attendees?

Hi, here is feedback on the database tables for Event Espresso 4:

wp_esp_attendee_meta (dbprefix_esp_attendee_meta) holds the attendee information.

wp_esp_price (dbprefix_esp_price) holds the ticket pricing information.

Thanks – we tried to recreate but it did not work. We now have everything back to where we need it for now so we are hoping that the wp_options does not crash again.
