Upcoming Events Widget has three blank break BR commands

I’m running EEv4 with the latest version of WP with the Biosphere theme. I have the upcoming events widget installed and running on my home page right column. below each event name, date and time are three BR break commands which contain no information for those lines. the result is a large gap between the multiple events displayed. is there a way to remove these three extra BR commands to close the blank gap?
