I have the automated event reminder currently active on my plug in, but registrants are not receiving the automated email. Can you please help me with this. |
I just noticed on the settings for scheduling the reminder that it says there is a critical error to check admin email, but I never received an email about a problem on this. |
I finally got an email from my hosting company regarding the error. It is posted below… An error of type E_ERROR was caused in line 61 of the file /nas/content/live/wucji/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/core/libraries/form_sections/strategies/filter/VsprintfFilter.php. Error message: Uncaught ValueError: Missing format specifier at end of string in /nas/content/live/wucji/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/core/libraries/form_sections/strategies/filter/VsprintfFilter.php:61 |

Hi there! Thanks for contacting us. Did you confirm if your WP Cron is running properly on your website? Every scheduled action on Event Espresso rely on WP Cron. Please, install this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-cron-status-checker/ to verify if it’s working fine. You can also ask for help to your hosting company. Let me know if it helps! |

Everything on the site is running fine except for this line error in your plug in… An error of type E_ERROR was caused in line 61 of the file /nas/content/live/wucji/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/core/libraries/form_sections/strategies/filter/VsprintfFilter.php. Error message: Uncaught ValueError: Missing format specifier at end of string in /nas/content/live/wucji/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/core/libraries/form_sections/strategies/filter/VsprintfFilter.php:61 I talked to my hosting company, and they said it has nothing to do with them. How do I fix this? |
Hi there! Are you receiving the Upcoming email normally when you send a test email? Please, go to the Messages > Upcoming Event Notification > Extra Actions. |
No, nothing is going out at all right now in terms of reminders. And I don’t see where the “extra actions” button is. Screenshots would help or if someone could get on the phone so we can go over this and solve it quickly. This is for a client and they are getting pretty pissed off at how long it is taking to rectify this situation. |
Hi there! I can take a look closer into this issue if you share your website access here: https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/ Thanks, |
I have sent the log-in credentials. |
Hi there, Just noting here that I have replied to your email. |
I did not receive any email reply and the error message is still on the Automated Upcoming Datetime Notification message template, so not sure exactly what you mean. |
Hmm strange, our support system shows the email was received. In short the credentials provided aren’t valid and I’ve also request FTP access to take a look at the files within the Automated Upcoming Event Notification Add-on as the error you are getting would normally indicate something is missing within the files. Has the site been moved from one host/server to another at all? I’ll post up the email I sent in a private reply right after this. |
This reply has been marked as private. | |
The client moved the site from a .com to a .edu, so we had to reset the license. I just sent you a password reset link for the user ID, so you should be good there. I am not sure what the FTP credentials are, but I can look into that for you if you are unable to fix the issue by just going in through the admin panel. Let me know. |
Ok, but did they also move the server or just a domain name change? I assume you ran some form of search and replace on the DB to update the db?
I’ve checked our support inbox and we not received any emails from your site, did you confirm the account is using support@eventespresso.com for the email address? If you’d like to reset the password manually and repost I can try with that, either is fine, I just can’t log in to check into this yet. |
I just resent the password reset link. Their developers did the name change to .edu, so I have an email to them on the two questions you asked above. |
Answers to questions… 1. Yes, the server stayed the same, the domain name and SSL certificate were changed. |
Hi there, My apologies for the delayed reply, I asked our developers to check into the above error and they have come back with the same answer as me in that it looks like either something in the file has been changed or something is hooking into Event Espresso and altering the string. I’ve checked our support inbox and we are not getting any password reset emails so I still can not access the site to check this but you could try reinstalling the Automated Upcoming Event Notifications Add-on by downloading it from your account page: https://eventespresso.com/users/stbw/ Click on the Automated Upcoming Event Notifications v1.0.5.p in your downloads and save the .zip file. Then on the site go to Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add New -> Upload plugin. Select the .zip you just downloaded and uploaded it to the site, it should ask if you want to replace the current version on the site, if so, click Yes to replace (if it not does not ask if you want to replace the current version, stop and cancel, close the page as you would then have 2 versions running which will cause an error) If you can resubmit the login credentials using the form here: https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/ I’ll happily take a look and see if anything stands out. |
Tony, I just sent the log-in credentials via that link that you sent me. In regard to the code, I have not touched anything, so I have no idea what that could be, but you should have access now. Look forward to hearing back, thanks! |
Hi there! We already received your credentials and they are working. Thanks for being patient! |
