Unique Attendee

Hello !

How does eventespresso identify attendees ? For example, if I have an event E1, and I have 2 people with same first and last names, but everything else is different ?

I tried to do that with different email addresses, but it seems like it just ‘merges’ the personal information of the attendee ?

Hi Amit,

Were these registrations from 2 different transactions or were they part of the same transaction?

Hi Josh,

They were separate transactions.

I register for E1 event with

First Name – Amit
Last name – Shah
email – my@work.com

Then, go back to the registration page, click register, with

First Name – Amit
Last name – Shah
email – my-email@gmail.com

And then, I check the contact-list – There is only one contact – Amit Shah, with email address of my-email@gmail.com.

What I expected was, 2 contacts named Amit Shah, one with email of my@work.com, and another with email of my-email@gmail.com .. ?

Thanks for clarifying. If you were logged into the website at the time you did both registrations, and the WP User Integration add-on was activated, then that’s the “sync contact information with WP user profile” feature causing the contact record to get updated instead of adding a new contact record (because you were logged into the website).

You can go to Event Espresso → Registration Form → User Integration Settings, then set Always sync contact information with WP user profile? to No.

Event Espresso
