Hello,
I just renewed my Support License but when I try to update Event Espresso I get the following error message in wordpress:
An error occurred while updating Event Espresso: Update package not available.
Could you please help in getting this error resolved.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Kenneth,

What version of Event Espresso are you currently using for your project?

Are you currently running Event Espresso 3? You can find this version number through your WP plugins screen.

If you are using Event Espresso 3 and would like to migrate to Event Espresso 4, then please backup your WordPress site (https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-back-up-your-site/) and then see this guide:

Hi Lorenzo,
Thank you for resetting the License Key.
I pasted the key in the “Support License Key” field and tried the update but still get the same error message.
Also I noticed that there is a Red Key next to the “Support License Key” field in Event Espresso General Settings Page.
And when I check the “My Account” page on eventespresso.com, I see that below my license it says “Not currently activated on any websites”.
Could you please help, we have a seminar coming up and we have an open event accepting registrations.
Thank you for your help.

Hi Lorenzo,
I repeated the entire process again and this time the key is accepted and I was able to update EE to v4.9.3p.
Thank you very much for all your help.

I do have one question when I use the EventEspresso 4 iPhone app and try to login I get the error message “The data is not in the correct format”

Could you please let me know how I can resolve this issue so that I can login in and be able to scan the seminar tickets.
Thanks a million.

I followed the documentation but am still not able to login.
I get the error message: “The data is not in the correct format”.
I’ve setup “Application Passwords”, setup new user etc – still not working.
Could you Please let me know what I am missing.

Your site is missing the JSON API endpoints because it’s running WP 4.3.1. You’ll need to update to the current version of WordPress (at least WP 4.5) in order to use the JSON API.

Hi Josh,
Thank you for responding to my issue.
I have the Event Espresso API Plugin version 2.1.4P on the site, but deactivated it as per the documentation. Do I need to activate this plugin.
I am planning on updating to WordPress 4.5 this evening.
Thanks again.

I have the Event Espresso API Plugin version 2.1.4P on the site, but deactivated it as per the documentation. Do I need to activate this plugin.

That sounds like the JSON API plugin for EE3.

As you are using EE4 you can remove that plugin from your site, you don’t need any additional plugins for the EE4 REST API as it is built into Event Espresso core. However you do need WordPress 4.5 and above as the REST API was added to WordPress core in version 4.5 (EE extends the WP core REST API so needs this)
