Unable to send related messages after manual approval of registration

When a person registers for one of our events they have the option of paying at that time or can choose to be billed later. This has been working fine for us for a couple of years but today when we Approved a registration with “Send Related Messages” set to Yes, we received the following message:

An error has occurred:
Something went wrong because we’re missing the registration ID

It still updated the status of the registration to Approved but it did not send any emails.

We aren’t doing anything different than since it last worked correctly, perhaps a recent update changed something that is causing our problems.

Hi there,

We’ve identified the cause of this and will get it fixed in the next version of Event Espresso (due out Monday).

For the time being, you can manually ‘resend’ the messages from the Registration list table in Event Espresso -> Registrations.

Find the registration in question and click the icon in actions column.

Or, you can set the status and trigger notifications in a single step on that same page. Click the checkbox next to the Registration you want to update, in the bulk actions dropdown at the top of the table select the correct status you want to set them to with the ‘…and notify’ option. Then click Apply.

That will work around the issue on the single edit registration page until we get the update out.
