Unable to manually update payment

I saw some posts on this from back in 2013 but it said there was a fix at that time. I am on Version 3.1.37.11.P and can’t seem to manually update payments. I select View/Edit Payment, then enter the amount in the “Enter new payment amount” field, Transaction type I enter in the check number for reference and select the update payment button but nothing happens. The page refreshes with all those fields empty and no changes made. Am I missing something?

Hi Stacey,

Are you entering a Transaction ID?

You mention you entered the check number within transaction type, however the transaction ID is required rather then type – http://take.ms/WQmITH

So you’d likely want to enter the amount, within transaction type enter ‘Check’ and then the check number within the Transaction ID.

Have you recently added any new plugins to the site?

You can check to see if there is a plugin conflict by temporarily deactivating all plugins except for Event Espresso. Then try adding a payment again.

If the problem goes away, then reactivate your plugins one by one until the issue returns.

Thank you! The transaction ID missing was the issue. I didn’t receive the confirmation that Lorenzo said I should but the change was made. I would recommend that any required fields be some how identified as I’ve been trying to get this to work for over a year. Should have jumped on the forum earlier just figured it was something stupid I was missing and I don’t use it that often.

Did you not see the notice I highlighted in my screenshot when not adding a Transaction ID? – http://take.ms/WQmITH

The admin notice should show which fields are missing but if you aren’t seeing those you won’t know.

Which version of WordPress are you using?

Didn’t get any notices, I’m using WordPress 4.7.2

Hi Stacey, my earlier screenshot was from WP 4.7.2.

Is there a test registration that you can add (e.g. register as yourself and you can remove later) and then run another test on?

If it still does not show up, then could you try temporarily deactivating other plugins and test with Event Espresso running?
