Hi Josh,

I am still having issues with the error log file on my site growing in size to over 4GB.

Please see link below to previous support query.

https://eventespresso.com/topic/un-known-error-error-log-file-over-4gb/

I did follow you instructions and installed the plugin as you suggested, but still the error log file get to a crazy size.

The plugin is updated to the latest software.

Can you please help.

Regards ,
ROb

Hi Rob,

May I ask, how many DateTimes do you run on your events?

Hi Tony,

I think i might have figured out what is happening. I have 6 events moved to trash, they had this message showing under the start date “No Date was saved for this Event”.

I am after restoring these events back to see if this resolves my issue.

Can i ask how can i archieve old events.

Regards,
Rob

Hi Rob,

There isn’t an archive feature for events, they automatically drop off the event lists on the front end. This helps avoid 404 errors.

In any case, the bulk of the errors that were posted in your other topic were not related to Event Espresso. Is there someone that built the site that you can contact so they can investigate and fix the condition that’s causing the bulk of the errors?

Morning Josh, Thank you for getting back to me. After removing the files from the trash folder, it seems to have cleared up a bulk of the messages i was seeing in the error folder as the folder is not as large as it was after a 12 hour period.

However, I did see the below in the error log file which I am unsure of what it means.

I built the site my self, but lack the experience in coding, but do my best to learn from mistakes or errors I come across.

From reading the below messages i can see they are DB errors but unsure:

text/x-generic error_log ( ASCII text, with very long lines )

*redacted*

Hi,

In the future, please post long blocks of code and or logs into a pastebin or GitHub gist, then link to the URL here.

In this case, you’re getting an awful lot of these:

PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 90 seconds exceeded

that’s an indication that the server can’t handle the load.

The first thing to check is are there any custom code snippets copied from elsewhere? It looks like every request is getting bogged down with something, and that something could be running a never ending loop.

You could start by removing any custom code, then move on to temporarily deactivating all non-essential plugins, then check the error logs after a bit.
