Hi, I am confused about how I am supposed to cross reference a payment from EE to stripe. I thought that I could look at the transaction and copy the txn id and paste into the search on stripe but that is not working. What exactly is a txn ID and how does it help me? Thanks, http://www.artnook.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Screen-Shot-2015-12-17-at-3.00.01-PM.png |

I find it easier to search by name or email address, and if you’re looking to compare EE and Stripe transactions you’re looking in the right place. 🙂 However, it appears you’ve discovered a bug because that We’ll notify you when we release an update to Stripe. Hopefully it’s pretty quick. 🙂 |

However, I should note that you can search for the transaction ID given in EE4 and you can find the related transaction. |

Ok. Great! I thought that was a little suspicious. But I am confused about your second post…isn’t that what you said you are fixing? I have EE4 and the transaction number is not showing up in stripe when searched for. |
|
Oh and how do you search by name if by default that stripe gateway does not collect the name? |
|
You can search by name if you have set Stripe to require the billing address within Payment Methods -> Stripe. Also it looks like Stripe may have been having issues with its search recently, searching with the transactions ID provided by Event Espresso (the same section shown in your screenshot) brings up the relevant transaction within Stripe for me. Can you check if now it does for you please? |

Ok. So it is working now. But I am still confused about the “apply payment” button that is also shown in the screenshot. I am guessing that this is used if you want to add a manual payment. If I wanted to use Stripe for this, how would I go about it? My guess is that I would select stripe in the dropdown (although stripe is not always an option here) and then go to my stripe dashboard and charge them manually there. Then come back and put in a txn ID. But stripe does not provide a TXN ID so then I have no way to cross reference the payments between stripe and EE. Is this correct? |
|
Yes that’s correct. Adding payments within the admin is to allow you to input manual payments you have received through whichever payment method.
Yes that’s correct…
The transaction ID is show when you view the payment – http://take.ms/to9gC That’s the number that Garth created a ticket for Stripe to use in the future within the EE dashboard, so you can set that as the TXN ID within the payment – http://take.ms/Yjylr |

Ok. So I think this answers all of my questions. Except why is the stripe not showing in the dropdown every time? |

Please respond to my questions in your other thread regarding this: https://eventespresso.com/topic/manually-registration/#post-185102 |
