I’m looking for suggestions. I need to create an event with the following pricing options: $30 for one person or $60 per family

I need all of the attendees to register for the event.

For example if I have a family of 4, they each need to fill out information per person.

The problem I keep running into is that if someone selects the family option and add information for all 4 member the price comes out to be $240 instead of the $60.

I have tried the volume discount add-on with no luck. Since I don’t know how many members there will be registering per family, I can’t do a fixed amount or by %.

I’m currently blocked and have people asking when I’m going to get our registration page up for our event. Any suggestions???

Hi Jeff, the issue here is that Event Espresso does not have a ticket option that lets you add a specific number of registrations.

By default, it is one registrant/attendee per ticket / pricing option.

Have you considered creating a new event for the family like this?

$60 Initial family fee

$0 each additional family member

Then you’ll want to enable the multiple event registration add-on along with the add to cart option:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/multiple-events-registration-use-add-to-cart-link-instead-of-default-registration-form/

During registration, a registrant/attendee with a family could then select the main pricing option at $60 and then select a quantity for each additional family member which would be free. This means that a family that registers for two and a family that registers for four would both pay $60.

Does that help?

I like the idea.

Anyway in the system to require someone to select the Initial Family fee before they can select the additional family member?

Another way to would be to grey out the additional selection until the family select has been selected??

Hi,

That kind of logic isn’t available out of the box but may be possible by using some Javascript or JQuery.
