Turn off 'additional attendees' for one ticket type and keep it on for another?

Hello Tony

If I’ve got ‘beer tokens’ as one ticket type, and ‘admission tickets’ for another ticket type (within the same event), can we make it so that we have ‘additional attendee personal info’ coming up for the admission tickets, and the beer tokenTickets picking up the primary attendee?

The problem is also that, with tokens and tickens requiring ‘additional attendee’ info, the list of boxes to fill in can get very very long and they all look the same. So that would be question part II: can we relabel the Personal Info boxes according to the name of the ticket to make it clearer?

Thank you for your help.

Dee

Hi Dee,

Not without custom development to basically hide the additional tickets and copy the info over. You can disable the additional registrant questions completely but I’m guessing you want to capture the details of all registrants not just the primary and then not at all on the beer tokens.

IIRC your beer token tickets are unlimited, the only reason they are a ticket right now is to add a cost to the registration correct?

Would it work if you could ask a custom question on the registration form which basically had a value?

For example ‘Do you want beer tokens?’ with a checkbox or similar and then ‘How many?’ with a qty field. If the user selects yes then the value is multiplied by the qty and added to the registration before payment.

Hi Tony, that is a good idea and I’d like to try it. Could you tell me please, would there be something on the ticket which would say beer tokens/how many? I guess I could add it, right? More importantly, would there be something in the QR code which could be scanned and ticked off in the backend to indicate that guest had picked them up?

Thank you for your thoughts.

Dee

Not by default but easily added.

A quick explanation is your adding custom questions to the registration form and then using those values to add ‘line items’ to the transaction.

The ticket itself doesn’t include custom questions, but as the template is editable through the admin and you can pull the answer to custom questions for the ticket you can easily add them in.

More importantly, would there be something in the QR code which could be scanned and ticked off in the backend to indicate that guest had picked them up?

Hmm, not specifically for the beer tokens. But you can use the QR codes to check the user in and if your checking the user in would it not be safe to assume they also picked up their tokens at the same time?

Yes, thanks for thinking through. I think that would work too. I think, though, that we’ll want to know how many tokens we’ve sold, so now I’m thinking to create two events – one for admission tickets with additional attendees being logged, and the other for tokens only with primary attendees only logged. I’ll run some tests. Thanks for your help. Dee
