Hi, I’ve read through everything I can find on doing this, but run into multiple problems using the directions here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/quickbooks-payment-gateway/ The step by step doesn’t match what I see in my Intuit developers account. Maybe start with how do I enter my merchant account credentials as mentioned in the opening paragraph “Getting QuickBooks setup requires multiple steps including creating an app through the Intuit Developer portal, entering the credentials for your merchant account in the payment methods screen for Event Espresso, and then authorizing the app to allow processing of payments.. I don’t see anyplace in the payment methods screen to enter the merchant account credentials. Can you point me in the right direction? |
Hi there, If you go to Event Espresso -> Payment methods. You should see Quickbooks listed there and it should look something like this – https://monosnap.com/file/JyWFfkwztv2Fikld4cyiSTzemWu9tu Further down the page you’ll see the fields to input credentials – https://monosnap.com/file/YaxrMy3Bf3ZFM34a2h9lxl6qoADxZA The credentials you need for that section are from your Quickbooks account. are you looking to create a developer/sandbox app to test payments or are you wanting to set up live payments straight away? (We recommend using a development app to test first) |

Definitely developer/sandbox account. I see both of the fields you reference, and I updated those from my developer account after creating an app per the instructions. But what I don’t understand is how my developer account and app connect to my client’s QBO account, as I haven’t entered his QBO credentials anywhere. Those are the credentials I expected to enter someplace in the plugin settings page. What am I missing? |
I’m not a Quickbooks Online user, so I do not have an account to verify this, but what I’ve read on intuit’s website says you’d go to: |

Hi Josh, you were right about that. I’ve gone through creating the app (BTW different from the instructions here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/quickbooks-payment-gateway/). Now I’m on your step 4 – “Now click on App URLs and then enter the information about your website. You should update the Host Domain, Launch URL, and Disconnect URL and then click Save.” |
Hi, You need to click on Keys & Oath to see those fields. Please keep in mind there’s a “Keys & OAuth” under “Development”, those are for testing (sandbox). There’s also a “Keys & OAuth” under “Production” which is for when you’re ready to go live. |

Josh, I figured those out and finally got connected. Happy to send screenshots of the new/updated Intuit screens if you want to update your doc, let me know. Thanks for all your help. You guys put the Intuit support folks to shame. |
