Hello,
I have a English WP installed but probably installed EE with the Dutch package. As a result some parts of EE appear in Dutch. I want the installation to be Dutch but want to use the EURO as payment-unity since we are based in the Netherlands. Please advise
Kind regards and thanks for your help. Rob

Hi Rob,

Event Espresso uses the site language set in Dashboard -> Settings -> General -> Site Language. I assume thats English, correct?

Which sections are showing up in Dutch on the site?

The currency used on the site is based on the address set in Event Espresso -> General Settings.

Have you set the Country to be Netherlands there?

Hi Tony, Order Confirmation Receipt and Invoice. Also layout and logo are not ok. Feel free to register so you can see for yourself. You will not be charged (it says that it will be taken care of by your institute but you can ignore that. Thanks for your trouble

When the message templates are generated and saved to the database, they use whatever language the site is set to when EE is activated.

So I assume the site was originally set to Dutch when EE was first installed, the message templates generated, applied translations and saved to the database.

For Invoice and Receipt, if you haven’t modifier the templates at all you can rest the templates to regenerate them. EE will use whatever the sites current language is to regenerate the content.

First, let’s confirm the fix works for you.

Go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Default Message Templates.

Find the Invoice template in the list and click ‘Edit Purchaser’.

Now you should see the Invoice template with Dutch content, correct?

On the right in the sidebar, click ‘Reset Templates’.

Does it now show the Invoice template in English?

Note resetting the templates will remove any changes made to those templates in the admin. They are regenerated using the default EE templates and will be as they were when EE was activated.

Great!

So just to note incase it isn’t obvious above, if the Receipt and Invoice templates needed to be reset then that likely means that all of your message templates were generated with a translation active and you may need to reset them all.

Go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Default Message Templates.

Find say ‘Registration Approved’ in the list.

Click the ‘Edit Event Admin’ link.

If that content is not shown in English there, you’ll need to click ‘Reset Templates’ there. Then repeat for each message type in Event Espresso (note clicking that Reset Templates button resets all ‘contexts’ within a type, so Event Admin, Primary Registrant and Registrant, will all be regenerated and any changes you’ve made to any of them will be lost.
