Hi,
We are in a review of your product for registering participants for different classes. There are many feature that we actually like, however, we were not able to find any information on ability to transfer a registration from one class to another. Is it possible for the administrator to move a registration from one date to another when multiple events available?

Thank you.

LJ

Hi LJ,

The current method for moving an attendee to a different class/event is to register them in the dashboard for the event you are moving them to, then delete that registration from the old event.

Hi Jonathan,
Thank you for your response. How this will affect the payment associated with the original registration in case we delete the registration from the old event?
Thanks.

1.Also, on another note, how easy is to duplicate event and then just change dates of occurrence, I am not referring to creating a series and then separating events.
2.Is it possible to put attachments with confirmation emails?

Thanks.

Hi LJ, if you delete the prior registration, then that payment information would also be removed. Note that this does not affect any payments (i.e. the payment would not be refunded due to removing a registration.)

Event Espresso does have a duplicate button via the event editor. This is helpful for quickly creating a handful of similar events.

Attachments are not supported. However, you could upload your file(s) to your WordPress media library and then include a link to that file in your confirmation emails.

Lorenzo,
My concern is that removing prior registration would remove payment information as well. In another words, payment information would not be retrievable in case of dispute, re-confirmation or refund, as it would be removed and also would not be connected to the transferred registration to a new date. Can you elaborate more on this please?

Thanks.

Hi LJ, that information would be removed and you would need to manually apply a payment for the registration for the new event.

Thank you Lorenzo. I am not sure if I have posed that questions correctly and considering this is our everyday scenario, this feature is very important to us:
– someone registers for the class
– they decide that date no longer works for them and they want to have their registration transferred to another date for the same class
– payment stays in place, we just need to move their registration
So far, I have learned from you that we will need to remove the registrant from a previous date which will remove their payment as well, however we will manually have to re-enter their information, which we can accept to a point. The concern would be with “manually apply a payment for the registration for the new event”, in another words, are you saying their payment information would not be encrypted and how it would be even possible to transfer someone’s payment information with secure transactions. This would be unsafe process for us, unless I misunderstood your short reply. Would you please clarify steps to this process.
Regarding the payment gateway add-ons, I do not see PayPal listed, did I missed it somehow? PayPal is required with our institution so please let us know more about this option.

As always, thank you for explaining all this.

Hi LJ, Event Espresso stores the transaction ID for a payment but it does not allow you to charge for another event automatically. Here is what the steps could look like:

1) Add registrant to new event through WP dashboard

2a) Go to record and apply a payment and copy over the transaction ID. Include a note such as transferred from name of prior event.

2b) If there is a difference between the cost for the events, then you would need to either refund the difference or invoice the registrant via PayPal.

3) Go to prior registration and remove the payment

4) Then cancel the registration

Note that the process above is manual as there isn’t a quick transfer feature between events.

PayPal Standard is supported which allows your attendees to pay with a bank card (guest checkout) and pay with PayPal funds.

PayPal Pro is also supported and it is an onsite payment processor so you could accept major credit cards.
