We are using Mijireh for CC processing to Braintree on EE 4.8.10.p and WordPress 4.3.1.

It doesn’t happen that often, only 3 transactions out of hundreds, but I’m curious how something is occurring. For instance, we had a transaction a couple of weeks ago that showed up paid at Braintree, but it was Incomplete in EE4. When looking up the transaction in EE4, I find a TXN ID on the payment details that looks like a Mijireh ID with a Pending status. However, the ID is not found in Mijireh, instead I find a different ID for this payer that corresponds to the transaction number in EE4. Braintree has the same ID as Mijireh with the transaction being settled. I assume the issue with the transactions has something to do with the session being interrupted, but where did the TXN ID come from?

Hello again,

I took another look at your prior support post along with this one.

There are two systems that work together to prevent bot / bogus registrations and clean up any errant data from those include line item for transactions.

The bot trap was introduced in 4.8.x and the clean up option that runs periodically was introduced in 4.7.x.

We discovered that the clean up option could remove transaction line items under a specific set of conditions so it was turned off in the prior maintenance releases of Event Espresso 4.8.x.

As of the latest version of 4.8.11, we have re-introduced the clean up and added an encryption option to the bot trap. So to clarify, both systems which have been improved are running again in the latest version of Event Espresso 4.

Could you first backup your site and then upgrade to the latest release and monitor this report this week to see if it appears again?

Thanks

Lorenzo

I wasn’t able to get this done yet due to other work yesterday, but I have a question. I always like to update our dev server first and test all before you putting on the production server. Since I get the license key error on the dev server, I always remove the EE plugin from the dev server and come to this EE website and download the latest version to manually upload to upgrade. Although I see on our production server the EE4 plugin has an update for version 4.8.11.p, this website provides a download of version 4.8.13.p. They are usually the same, not sure why they’re different, but which version should I be updating to?

When EE checks for an update it adds a notice showing the latest version of the plugin at that time. When you click to update you will get the latest version of the plugin at the time that you click to update.

On the production site, can you go to Event Espresso -> General Settings. Make no changes but just save the settings.

This forces an update check and should update the notice.

Sometimes we may release 3 versions within a couple of hours. Your site may check at version .1 and add the notice, then by the time you’ve logged in and clicked to update, we may have updated to .3 but you will always download the latest available through the Dashboard.

We always recommend updating to the latest version, whatever that may be at the time of performing the update so currently you want to test 4.8.13.p

It’s weird, we actually have two dev sites, another one we have shows an update ready for version 4.8.12.p. I’m assuming I need to upgrade to the latest, which appears to be 4.8.13.p, but could you clarify?

One dev server is currently using 4.8.8.p and the update message shows:

An automatic update for Event Espresso available but your Support License Key has not been activated. For EE3+ users, please go to the Event Espresso General Settings page to set your Support License Key. For EE4+ users, please go to the Your Organization Settings page.

The other dev server is running 4.8.10.p and shows:

A new version of Event Espresso is available. View What's New with version 4.8.12.p. A valid Support License Key is needed to enable automatic upgrades. Your current account does not allow automatic upgrades on more than one domain. Please log in to your Event Espresso account to manage your Support License Keys or purchase a support license right now.

Yes the latest version is currently 4.8.13.p

Do both of those Dev sites have a license key/the same license key saved within general settings or is it blank?

Yes, both have the same key saved. The dev server displays the warning:

Your support license key is only valid for one domain at a time, and our licensing system has detected that you are using your license key on multiple domains. Please log in to your Event Espresso account to manage your Support License Keys, or if you have concerns, please Contact Us.

Hi, that is occurring as you are trying to use the support license key on multiple sites. It will enable support services for one site at a time.

Try manually updating the development sites.

You can do so by deactivating and removing Event Espresso 4 through your WP dashboard. Then download a new copy from your account page which will be a zip file. Login to your WP dashboard and go to WP plugins –> Add New. Browse to the file on your computer and then upload and activate it.
