"Transaction Status: Failed" for only one event

Hello,
My client got in touch today reporting that all of the registrations for a specific event have a “Failed” transaction status. I cross checked the payments on PayPal and all of the payments for these registrations have been successfully processed.

What’s strange is that transactions for other active events are being marked as Successful. Additionally, I just created a test event and was able to submit payment and see the transaction status update to Successful.

I compared this event with the others and there is no difference other than ticket pricing and copy/text.

This isn’t the first time we’ve had a problematic event that required us to delete and re-create in order for it to work properly.

Does anyone have advice on where I can start troubleshooting?

We’re running WP 3.9.1 with EE 4.2.3.

Is the IPN setup?

It should be processing and updating correctly:

You mentioned that its happening for a single event — is there anything significantly different about this event as compared to the others?

Yes the IPN is setup and working correctly as transactions are coming in from another event and being marked as complete. I’m not seeing any differences between the events other than the basics: title, description, feat. image, etc.

I didn’t see another paid event to compare against but could you adjust the title and ticket name and test again?

That did the trick. So we have to avoid using punctuation? Or do you have a fix we could implemented for this?
