Hello. We give partial refunds to some customers in case they fail to apply the promo code during registration (or the code does not work as it is intended to), but this partial refund makes the transaction status incomplete as after the partial refund entrance there is a balance due.
As long as the registration status remains ‘Approved’ it will not effect the registration.
If you want the transaction to be complete you could repurpose one of your payment methods to be a ‘discount’ payment method, then apply a ‘payment’ within the admin and select the ‘Discount’ payment method so it shows with a name of discount.
I don’t think it would. I could already do that by applying an other type payment. It would mess up the accounting info. After all that money has not come into the account.
What would work would be to be able to change the amount due (e.g. by changing the ticket prices). Maybe a discount given option.
For now I would settle with changing the transaction status to complete.
Is there a way to do that?

Not currently, which is why I mentioned the above.
Another option is to use the attendee mover add-on to move the registration onto a ticket with the ‘correct’ price, note you will need to manually create the ticket on the event with the correct price before you could move the registration to that ticket.
