Too many email confirmations

So I’m not sure why I’m (registrant) getting 3 email confirmations. After registering I get an email with the following subject lines:
Your Event Registration Details
Event Registration Details
Movie Makers Registration confirmation

I only need our registrants to get one confirmation and then obviously the payment confirmed if they pay by PayPal. On the settings, I only have the following messages active: Payment Received, Payment Reminder, Registration Cancelled, Registration Approved & Payment Declined.

It’s almost like I’m getting the administrator emails as well, but my email is not on the settings. Any suggestions?

Hi there,

It sounds like you are using the same email address as the admin to register onto the event, so you’re getting the recipient and event admin email.

Your Event Registration Details – This is the ‘Recipient’ context of the Registration Approved message type.

Event Registration Details – This is the Event Admin context of the Registration Approved message type.

Movie Makers Registration confirmation – This is custom and could be any message, possible the Payment Received message, or another Registration Approved message if you have the ‘Primary Registrant’ context active.

Do you know where you set that last subject? Can you add a screenshot of that page?

So I am getting the Event Admin emails, but my email address is not on the settings. Where would that be?

It may be in Event Espresso > General Settings. There’s a Primary Contact Email field there and that address will be used if your messages use the
[CO_EMAIL] field.

That’s the strange part as the primary contact has the company email, yet I’m still getting the emails to my personal account. Initially I had put my personal email to test, but changed it back and yet I’m still getting the emails and the company email in the settings is not.

Can you check the To: fields of the Event Admin message templates for the messages you’re getting? They may have the
[EVENT_AUTHOR_EMAIL] shortcode in the To: field. You can change the To: fields for the Event Admin messages to have
[CO_EMAIL] instead.
