I’m currently experiencing that the Title of my event disappears from the title box whenever I press “Update Event.” I need to keep re-entering the event title constantly, otherwise it disappears from my website when I update the page again.

Hi proberts,
Which version of Event Espresso are you using currently?
What is the Event Title that is removed? Is it one specific Event or all?

Hi Tony,
It is version 3.1.18.P. I recently purchased a new license, but have had some problems updating the version (though WP itself is up-to-date).
I might have even purchased installation support at the same time as my license update, but never got around to requesting that. Perhaps now would be a good time.

It most likely is an issue with the Event Espresso version.
What problem do you have when updating currently?

Actually, now I look at it, the problem seems to be with activating the plug in. I get the following fatal error message:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare espresso_version() (previously declared in /home/p253j7cv/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso.3.1.18.P/espresso.php:34) in /home/p253j7cv/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso.3.1.10.P/espresso.php on line 35

That’s due to 3.1.18 being installed and active on the server.
If you follow the guide available here:
https://eventespresso.com/wiki/updating-event-espresso/
You should be able to update fine.

Thank you Tony. It has indeed worked fine. Some older events disappeared, but I had the data saved from those anyway. In short I am happy with the outcome and thank you.

Regarding the older Events, there has been a fair amount of changes since .18 in the way the events are ‘filtered’.
The events are likely still there just filtered out on the overview. To view all events change the Status to ‘ALL (Active/Inactive )’ and the ‘Retrieve’ field to all like http://d.pr/i/cIt
Then press Retrieve.
Your previous events should now show up.
Also, .18 did not offer automatic updates, the current version of EE does. If you go to your Account page & copy your license key.
Then go to Event Espresso -> General Settings and scroll to ‘Support License’ paste it into the field and save the options, Event Espresso will alert you newer versions and also allow you to update automatically.
