We are seeing a MAJOR BUG in EVENT ESPRESSO that has just occurred. After a user purchases an event, the time and date of the event changes. Her is a video supporting this issue https://share.vidyard.com/watch/Uw1iWeHERHs9aZPywn9pTC |

Hi there, If you check the datetime section after fixing the event you’ll notice the date changes before the registration is made on the ticket, you can see it very briefly in your video when you scroll down before the refresh has finished. Looking over your site it looks like you currently have the site timezone setting to a UTC value (UTC-4 to be exact) which is likely the cause of the problem. We added a notice to all sites using a UTC offset with at least one event created a little while back that provided some details on this by linking to this post: https://eventespresso.com/2017/08/important-upcoming-changes-dates-times/ If you go to Dashboard -> Settings -> General Change your Timezone to location closest to you (or a location closes to the companies location if you work remotely) rather than a UTC offset value and update. Then try updating the ticket and confirm if it works as expected. Note that changing the timezone setting on your event may shift the times on all of the events on your site, we have a tool built into Event Espresso to fix that if it happens on your site. |

How does that make sense when none of the other events affected and this just started happening? Thanks |
That’s actually always been an issue, which is why the developers made several notifications to inform site owners to change to a real timezone offset instead of a UTC offset. |
Can you show me the tool that I need to use once I update the timezone? We have 200+ tickets in here and I would hate to have to manually update them. THanks! |
Hi: I think I found the tool. Is it this? http://prntscr.com/i2wv9g Thanks! |
Yes that is the tool to shift the times. |
Hi: We are still having time issues: PLEASE NOTE: THIS JUST STARTED TO HAPPEN WHICH IS WHY WE ARE CONFUSED. |
The reason is because Daylight saving time is in effect on June 7, and before you changed the site’s timezone to New York, the site had a UTC offset which doesn’t factor in daylight savings time. Now that your site uses a real timezone, you can edit the June 7 datetime’s start and end times, then save and the correct time will be used. |
Hi Josh: I am not sure how that makes sense. Some tickets are correct and others are incorrect. Any thoughts on that issue? Thanks! |
Sure, can you explain what you’re trying to communicate with your screenshot and how that fits with “Some tickets are correct and others are incorrect”? I already gave you my thoughts, but they may be uniformed because I have very little information to go on. |
