I have used the EE3 ticketing app for one of our events and it worked well. Now post recently I tried to use the beta barcode scanning and let me tell you it is a huge step back. |
Hi Andriy, Thank you for your feedback. One other option you do have is to use a CCD barcode scanner instead of a laser scanner. CCD barcode scanners have the capability to read screens. |

Ok, I will look into the CCD scanner. Does that mean i need to use different type of barcode on my receipts? |
Not necessarily. It will depend on which barcode types the scanner supports. So if the barcode type that you use now is supported by the CCD scanner, you will not need to change the barcode type. |

Does the barcode scanner plugin give the option to use QR codes instead? |
Hi Aaron, The library we use in the barcode scanner add-on is built to work with qr code scanners and barcode scanners. I have only tested the add-on with a barcode scanner, but if you have a qr code scanner and would like to try it out, the barcode scanner add-on is active over on demoee.org. You can sign up for a demoee.org account here: https://eventespresso.com/pricing/test-drive-event-espresso-4/ |

Okay, I’m confused. When registering in the demo event, the ticket has a QR code, where in the plugin page the tickets have barcodes. Am I missing something? |
Hi Aaron, Can you explain what you mean by plugin page? The demo ticket has both a barcode and a qr code on it. |
