Hello,

Going live tomorrow, and thought I’d check out the ticket scanning app on iPad / Android.

We’re now running on WPEngine servers (nice and fast, no more problems with Paypal).

I can log in to the EE Website (https://guildfordbeerfestival.co.uk) from an iPad, but I can’t from an android phone.

I get the error message: unable to login. Check web connection or EndPoint URL.

I have spoken with WPEngine. They say all looking fine their end. No problems or logs.

I downloaded the latest version of the app from the PlayStore this morning. SO it’s the most uptodate one.

Please could you tell me what to do to make it work?

Many thanks.

Dee

Hi Dee,

Do you currently have WP_DEBUG enabled on the site? If so disabled it.

Does your password contain any special chars? If so try creating a new user and using a password using only numbers and letters. Does that account log in?
(You don’t need to keep that account I’m just checking it isn’t an issue with the app not working with a char set in the password)

Hello Tony

I’ve got this in the wp_config.php file (WPEngine servers):

define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false);
define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘128M’);

Password for the ticketing app uses lowercase / uppercase alph & numberals only.

Thanks
Dee

Hi there,

The most current Android app is actually for EE4. When your site is running EE3, you’ll need this version of the app:

Hi Josh, yes, we’re installing the EE3 ticket scanning app, the one with the orange ticket. That’s the one we’re having problems with.

Hi Dee,

I checked your site’s EE3 API response and it’s loading from within the browser:

https://guildfordbeerfestival.co.uk/espresso-api/v1/events/public.pretty_json/

A few things you can try that may help are:
1) You create a new user account (you’ll be sure to only use alphanumeric characters)
2) You try deactivating any security plugins or plugins that limit access to the admin. They may be preventing the app to authenticate.

Thanks Josh, tried both, still same error message. We’ll leave it and stick with just the iOS platform for scanning. Thanks.
