Hi there, Our org sells 2 ticket types for events: Parent / Child We’ll set an overall limit – for example – of 35 tickets consisting of 15 adults and 20 children. Is there a way to configure an event so that the event is considered sold out if a ticket type limit is reached? For example, if 15 adults register but only 10 children are registered then the event is considered Sold Out and ALL ticket sales are halted. I’ve checked to see if this option is available in EE but can’t find one so I am hoping there is another way to configure this kind of limit. Thanks for your help, |
Hi G, Before going into details, how are your limits structured? For example, is this a case of there are 35 places and you need to set the event to be sold out once those places are reached regardless of which combination of ticket types? Or, you have 15 Adults places and once that specific ticket type is sold out it doesn’t matter how many children are already registered, that is the end of all ticket sales? I know they may sound similar, but one is qty based the other is ticket type. |

Hi Tony, “Or, you have 15 Adults places and once that specific ticket type is sold out it doesn’t matter how many children are already registered, that is the end of all ticket sales?” This is exactly what we’re trying to accomplish. It could be either type ticket. If either Adult or Child ticket type is sold out, that ends all ticket sales. Is there a way to accomplish this? Thanks! |

Hi Tony, So can this be done? Thx |

??? |

Hi Tony, Do you know if this can be done or not? Thanks |

Is there someone else who can follow up on this? Tony seems to have abandoned me. |
Hi there, My apologies for making you feel like I abandoned you here, so the official answer for this would be no as EE will only change the sol out status when all tickets/datetimes are sold out. I’ve been looking into doing this via a snippet but the problem is the function used to calculate and set the status doesn’t allow you to filter the return value, so setting the status using an action (which is available within that function) doesn’t prevent the other functionality from kicking in. I’ve asked for some feedback from one of our developers on this and will let you know what they come back with. |

Thanks for getting back to me Tony. Let me know if your devs come up with a work around. |
