Hello,

Our clients have noticed that the confirmation emails being sent when an event is booked has an incorrect price. It doesn’t show the total price of the ticket/s and instead shows the value as £0.00. we have checked the email template and it has the correct shortcode so we are a bit stuck. Any help here would be much appreciated.

Many thanks.

Hi there,

Which confirmation email is this please? (People use that term for various different message types, I would assume Registration Approved but thats not always correct).

Do you have an event I can run a test registration on? If you can then switch the status of my registration to Approved and trigger notifications I’ll take a look.

(Note you can cancel my registration after the above notification has been sent)

Hi there,

I can confirm that the email in question is the Registration Confirmed email. the issue occurs on all events site wide with a cost associated to them so feel free to test on any. Here is an example: https://www.oakemanor.com/events/quiz-night-2/

Please let me know if you need anything else.

I can confirm that the email in question is the Registration Confirmed email.

We don’t have a ‘Registration Confirmed’ email within EE4.

Registration Approved?

If you go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Message Activity.

Find one of the emails that shows this use the button in actions to preview it.

Add a screenshot of that email showing the issue, please?

Hello,

I responded to this already via email but am yet to receive a response.

Firstly, apologies for the confusion, I meant Registration Approved.

Here is a screenshot of one of the emails that is sent to the site admin: https://dexterous-designs.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Oake-Manor-email-price-issue-ADMIN.jpg.

As you can see on the screenshot, the price field is showing as £0.00. If I then preview the Payment Received email that is sent to the user, I can see that they in fact paid £100.00. see the following image: https://dexterous-designs.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Oake-Manor-email-price-issue-USER.jpg

When I look at the message template, it clearly has the shortcode for [AMOUNT_PAID] so im not sure what is causing this issue: https://dexterous-designs.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Oake-Manor-amount-paid.jpg

Any help here would be much appreciated.

Ok, AMOUNT_PAID uses a payment object which it pulls in from the current registration data, however on a Registration Approved message there isn’t a payment object so it tries to find one based on the current registration.

Looks like we need to after that slightly to make it a little more bulletproof s its obviously not finding the correct object in this instance.

Switch the above shortcode to use [TOTAL_AMOUNT_PAID]

That shortcode uses the EE_Transaction object linked to the current registration to pull in the value and should work from anywhere in that email.

I responded to this already via email but am yet to receive a response.
