Have new install of EE (3.1.36.5) installed on new WP (3.9.1), installed ticket plugin and on confirmation email get the link. Link opens ticket but takes between 60-90 seconds to show up, PDF link does not work, get blank page, print ticket works. Deactivated all plugins, moved template files to /wp-content/uploads/espresso/tickets/templates/

No change.

Any suggestions on where to look?

Thanks

I removed the company logo from the ticket (tried .png and .gif logos 8-16kb) and the ticket loaded normal, no problems. Download PDF link still took a long time but did eventually download the PDF ticket, still 60 seconds++. I have GD library loaded, working, wp_memory limit 96MB, PHP 5.3.10.

Hi Louis,

I’m also seeing the long delay on creating the PDF. Are you seeing any errors in the site error_log?

This is usually located in the WordPress root but may also be available through a cpanel or hosting panel area.

Hey Lorenzo,

Looked over the logs and no errors. The PDF eventually downloads but it takes some time.

Hi Louis,

Can you try removing the code in the ticket’s footer that prints the current time?

Hey Josh,

I removed the code, no difference.

Thanks.

Very strange. Seems like a memory leak or a missing server library. Have you asked your hosting company company to try loading the link? They might be able to check for a missing server library or something.

Thanks Seth,
This is on a dedicated server, no host company, I checked for library issues, checked GD, increased the memory to 96MB, invoice PDF works fine, just on ticket download link having the problem but it eventually downloads and is correct when it finally downloads. May just remove the download link from the ticket page to avoid complaints.

This is from the dompdf project page, where they say this:

PDF rendering is currently provided either by PDFLib or by a bundled version the R&OS CPDF class written by Wayne Munro. (Some important changes have been made to the R&OS class, however). In order to use PDFLib with dompdf, the PDFLib PECL extension is required. Using PDFLib improves performance and reduces the memory requirements of dompdf somewhat, while the R&OS CPDF class, though slightly slower, eliminates any dependencies on external PDF libraries.

Can you check to see if you have the PDFLib PECL extension installed on your server?
