Hello, We are researching calendar tools and we are looking for one that can support graphic and text in a calendar. I tried to read a Topic thread but could only see so much because we hadn’t purchased the product. Can someone please let me know if this is a possibility? Thank you!

Hi there, Yes it’s a possibility. You can see an example of a thumbnail on the calendar if you go over to our demo site here: https://eventespresso.com/testdrive/event-calendar/ and advance to July of 2013. You can actually test out adding your own events with thumbnails if you sign up to use the test drive site here: https://eventespresso.com/pricing/test-drive-event-espresso/ |

Thank you for the response Josh! When I went to the link provided I didn’t see any thumbnails in the actual calendar with the events. I just see the events on the calendar. Our ideal is to see the thumbnail and text without having to click on anything to see the thumbnail.
Thank you! |
Hi there, The events in May do not have featured thumbnails set, which I why you’ll need to advance to look at the event that’s in July. If the events in May had featured thumbnails, you wouldn’t need to click anything. |

Ah thank you Josh! I misunderstood your original message. 2 more questions Can you add multiple events each with an image to a day |
Hi there, The thumbnails feature is a bit limited in these ways. I’ve added a few more events to the test calendar for the next few months so you’ll get a better idea of what it can and cannot do. In general, the calendar works best if there is one event with an image per day. |

Thank you Josh! This is incredibly helpful. Just a few more questions. Can we customize the look of the calendar. How much control do we have over the styling? if for instance we didn’t want to it be bordered in a color. Also, and this would just a wish list item not a necessity, is the Calendar able to be exported to a PDF format? Is there a free version we can try? |
The calendar has iCal integration, but no PDF export. You can customize it by modifying the CSS. Event Espresso Lite is available for free from WordPress.org or by searching for it in your WordPress plugin dashboard. |

Thank you Garth! Here are just a few more questions
The week and day view with photos don’t look that polished. Will we be able to style those view differently or hide them? I really appreciate the help you all have given. Thanks! |
Hi Emily, I’ll follow up with each of your answers below:
Thanks for the feedback. As far as the styling goes, it depends on how much you want to dig into the calendar’s JavaScript and CSS. The individual view buttons are easily removed by changing the calendar settings.
Yes. Individual calenders (typically filtered by event categories) can be placed on different pages.
By mobile do you mean a mobile browser? Of course. In this case though we’d recommend using a mobile ready/responsive WordPress theme. You may need to tweak some styles (with CSS3 media queries) to get everything looking the way you want in a mobile browser.
I should clarify that the iCal integration is a feature that lets you add an event to your iCal compatible calendar, it doesn’t export the entire calendar of events to iCal. There is an admin feature that lets you export a table of events and their details to CSV, but this a feature only accessible to the admin. It doesn’t allow the calendar on the front end of the site to be exported by visitors of the website. |
