Everything seems to work fine except that ugly text under my list of events.
http://impulso.no/event-registration/
I have checked dates and everything.
My code in the event page is:
[SINGLEEVENT single_event_id=1]
[SINGLEEVENT single_event_id=1]
How can this be fixed?

Hi erik,

event-registration usually contain ESPRESSO_EVENTS which is a required shortcode.

Have you moved this shortcode to another page and/or are the two shortcodes provided above the only shortcodes on that page currently?

Hi Tony!
This is the entire code:
[ESPRESSO_EVENTS]

[SINGLEEVENT single_event_id=1]
[SINGLEEVENT single_event_id=1]

The page containing espresso events code was already there, I guess created by one of your guys that installed it the system (he finished a few hours ago). I just put in those two other codes.

Ok that’s fine, I basically wanted to check that the ESPRESSO_EVENTS shortcode had not been removed.

The problem here is the single_event_id attribute is using the ID number, rather than the Unique Identifier.

If you take a look here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/shortcodes-template-variables/#single-events

You can the single_event_id attribute is actually expecting the Unique Identifier found in the field under the Event Title. The ‘shortcode’ button within the event will actually build the full shortcode for you so you can just copy and paste.

However, ESPRESSO_EVENT lists all of your events anyway. Can you explain what it is you are trying to do do and how you would like it to work please?

That way we can provide details on the best way to accomplish this.

That is not the problem because that is what I did first. Then I read about that other option with just number on the support forum. I want to make a list for customers, ideally more compressed than what I see now it takes a lot of space. The main event is free classes, customers should pick and choose to get tickets for different classes..

Hi,

What specifically are you trying to remove on this page:

http://impulso.no/event-registration/

Hello Lorenzo!
The text under that says event is expired please.

Hi Erik,

If you go to that page in WordPress admin –> Pages and edit it then you should see two of these shortcodes:

[SINGLEEVENT single_event_id=12345]

Removing both of them and saving changes should clear that message.

Be sure to keep [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] as that is a required shortcode for registrations.

Does that make sense?

Hey Lorenzo!
Yes that worked, almost there! However, what do I do to make a page that only shows certain events (the two classes already shown) and another event page that shows other classes (the actual classes)? I hope you understand what I mean.

Thank you for your patience, I apologize for being such an idiot, it’s just so much information about this plugin. I don’t even know what it’s called those things that I want done. But I am learning.
I saw this demo-page (but it is deleted now) about a yoga studio where one could sign up for different single-classes by picking them from a list. I would like to have something like that, but one page for my free sample classes and one page for my real classes.

I made a page that demonstartes my problem:
http://impulso.no/another-espresso-example/

Please help me solve this so I can move forward. This has taken me the entire day!

That is strange. Could you go to those events in the event editor within the WordPress admin and re-save (just click the button in top right)?

Hi Erik,

It turns out that the SINGLEEVENT shortcode doesn’t work the way you think it does. It doesn’t take a single digit parameter. And it will display all the event’s info including a registration form, which I can imagine isn’t what you want anyway.

Also, the event’s unique identifier will not work in this case because of a bug in Event Espresso 3 related to using certain characters in the event title. There are alternative shortcodes to display an entire event registration form, but again, I don’t think that’s what you’re looking for.

Is the Yoga class demo that you mentioned earlier this one:

http://demoee.org/blog/event-category/yoga-classes/

If so, that’s running Event Espresso 4, so if you’d like your site to look like the demo, you might consider using Event Espresso 4 instead of Event Espresso 3.

Hi Josh!
Thank you for your answer.
ok. Special characters like “æøå” is the problem. But even without I can not make something like the example?

Yes, that yoga example is the one 🙂 I wish I could make something like that.
Maybe I did a mistake buying EE3. I chose it because it had highest price, I thought it would be the best system.
So if I decided to use EE4, how do I do that? Will I not loose any of the plugins that came with EE3?

Hi Erik,

Please see this comparison between EE3 and EE4:

https://eventespresso.com/differences-ee4-ee3/

If you decide you would like to switch, then you can deactivate EE3 and download EE4 from your Event Espresso account and install through WordPress plugins.

Be sure to backup before making any changes to your WordPress site.

Lorenzo, Thanks! Wow, quite a difference! And I don’t have to pay anything extra for this?
Can I pay one of you guys to do the job of switching system?

EE4 is included with all EE3 licenses whilst it is in Beta, so there is no extra charge for EE4.

To note, EE4 does not support any of the EE3 Add-on’s, at this time only the Calendar is compatible.

EE4 has more features then EE3 but not the same features.

Can I pay one of you guys to do the job of switching system?

We do offer this service however you’ll need to be sure EE4 suits the needs of your events beforehand, for example are you intending on offering Promo/Coupon Code discounts and do you need the functionality provided by the EE3 Add-on’s?

I’m not trying to talk you out of EE4 (it is a big improvement over EE3) but just want to check it meets your requirements first.

Just to close this topic, I decided to stick with ee3 and found good use of these commands to solve my problem:
[EVENT_CUSTOM_VIEW template_name=»date-range»]
and
[EVENT_CUSTOM_VIEW]
cheers!
Erik
