We have a fair number of these – some months seem to be worse than others – where people attempt registration but the system times out before they can submit payment. For example, so far in July, around 20% of registrations were “abandoned”.

When they email us letting us know, I typically just prompt the system to send them a payment reminder, and 100% of the time they’re able to complete their payment that way.

But I’m wondering there’s any trend we can identify that would let us know what is causing the majority of the abandoned registrations in the first place?

Hi,

The system timing out and abandoned registrations may be two different things. If the system times out, that’s an indication that your web server isn’t capable of handing the tasks its given. In which case you can upgrade to a server with more resources (faster CPU, more RAM) and that will help avoid time outs.

ok I did run WP_DEBUG and I’ll attach the error message.

I was able to recreate path to error. Error message is in the snip attached.

Path:

1. Main webpage

2. Select calendar

3. Select class (Austrian wine)

4. Select quantity (1)

5. Select add to cart

6. Select option (proceed to registration)

7. Fill out form, select yes to signing up for email

8. Select proceed to payment options

9. ERROR message

I repeated that path I just sent you, except changing one step (selecting no, on do you want to join email list) & this gets me to the payment page.

See attached error message.

Hi,

You’ll need to contact the developer of the Emitter.php file located in Avada-Child-Theme/ctct/vendor/guzzlehttp/guzzle/src/Event. The fatal error there is quite clear the error is from that file.
