I have a couple of clients that are migrating from old Joomla installs and are interested in EE for their events on a new wordpress platform. Due to the status of the add-ons, specifically recurring events, I have determined that both clients need EE3. Both of these clients are having to build new websites because of outdated software I am afraid they are going to flip out when I suggest EE3 and they see it isn’t recommended for use anymore. Will EE3 be continued to be supported or what kind of lifespan can we expect from it as more and more addons are developed for EE4?

Hey there,

This is a good question. We will continue to provide support and bug fixes/security updates for EE3 until the comparable features/add-ons have been migrated to EE4. Then we will have an end of life for EE3. At this point, customers will need to migrate to EE4 in order to stay up-to-date. At the EE3 end of life, we will no longer support or update EE3. However, until then, we will continue to keep EE3 updated to remain compatible with WordPress. EE3 end of life is still in the distant future.
