I have a full license key for EE 4 and I am in the process of testing and customizing before I push it live.
I need to see how the MailChimp and Promotions & Discount Codes add ons work, but it looks like maybe I can’t use/install them until I enter my license key, which the documentation says not to do on test sites.
What is the supported way to test add ons before we’re on our live sites?

Hi there,
Can I ask why you think you need the license key to test those add-ons on a development site?
You should be able to manually install and update those add-ons on a development server without any issues. You’ll need to download the add-on from your account page, then uploads and activate that add-on through Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add New -> Upload.
If you currently have a version of those add-ons installed you’ll need to de-activate and delete them before uploading the new versions.
