We have a convention with 100 events. We need to stop all registrations a few days before the convention. But then we want to turn it back on to support on-site registrations at the convention. I’d rather not deal with modifying every event. Can we just remove the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode and then just put it back in? If we do that, will users still be able to access their events, etc.? Any issues with this method?
This is not something Event Espresso (EE) currently features/supports but I tried removing the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode from the main registration page to prevent registrations and found no ill effects.
However… removing that shortcode basically stops ALL of EE’s front-end functions. Which means customers returning to pay (through the payment link available within the registration emails) can not. Basically any EE function that you view on the front-end will no longer work whilst that shortcode is missing.
If we do that, will users still be able to access their events, etc.?
By this do you mean actual ‘wp-users’ using the Memebers Add-on and accessing their events through the My Events page? If so then they can view the events they are registered onto and download an invoice but that is all. ‘My Events’ will load http://d.pr/i/hcyK but you can not go further than this.
