Hello, We are using the EE3 version and have been dealing with ongoing issues when posting events over the last 2 months. The system has been acting really “buggy” for want of a better word… Would like to have an easier time posting our events! Any help would be most appreciated! Thanks! |
Hi there, Could you confirm that you are on the latest version of Event Espresso 3 at 3.1.36.6.P? Next, when an event is duplicated, are you clicking on the duplicate button once or multiple times? An event becomes inactive after the registration and event dates have past. Could you go to one of these events with both of these conditions and check that it is set to active and set to public? http://cl.ly/image/3Q0X0W0W0g3X The screenshot above is from the event options widget in the event editor. It appears in the right side of the screen. — |

Hi Lorenzo! I appreciate your prompt response. We are using the latest Version 3.1.36.6.P Yes, the event duplication happened after clicking once…maybe this mass duplication was a technical hiccup at the time; but coupled with the other “issues”, I thought it best to make sure there wasn’t a bigger problem involved. We do follow that procedure of “ensuring events are set to active and public” if we’d like them to display on the event page (but at one point even with these settings, that was not happening) So again, it left us thinking maybe the plug in was not working as it should. On the Events Overview dashboard, when the Category is set to: “All categories” and Status is set to: “Active/Ongoing” events…nothing shows up. Is this normal when there are actually “active, public events” on the site? Conversely, these very events show up on the dashboard when you filter by “inactive events”. Is this how it should be? Seems strange. Other than that oddity, things appear to be in working order, but we’ll let tech support know if we continue to experience similar issues. Thanks, |
When you duplicate an event, you are currently directed back to the Event Overview which displays the original event. If on this screen you use any of the filters for the overview you will actually create another duplication each time you use them. So if you duplicate, then filter by month, and click ‘Filter Status’ 3 times you’ll create 4 duplicates (The original 1 that was intended and 3 from trying to use the filters) This is a known issue and something we have fixed in the next update to EE3, when duplicating an event you will be automatically redirected to the event editor for the new duplicate event.
Can you edit one of those events and post up the dates and times within the ‘Event Date/Times’ section, like this – http://take.ms/udZIv Although an event maybe be set as a Public and Active event within the options, it is a combination of the Event Start/End dates and Registration Start/End dates that determine the ‘status’ of an event |

Hi Tony, Thanks for your follow up. That certainly explains the duplicate entries we were seeing – we look forward to the upgrade!:). “Can you edit one of those events and post up the dates and times within the ‘Event Date/Times’ section, like this – http://take.ms/udZIv” As for your request above, can you clarify…is this to troubleshoot whether events are posting/expiring as they should? Are showing up on the events page? Or are we trying to gauge how they’re being categorized, i.e. “Active/Inactive” etc.? Based on your explanation of how the event “status” is determined, I think we’re in good shape. |
Hi, we would like to see some of the sample dates that are in use. We have some tips on capturing a screenshot here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/troubleshooting-checklist/#screenshots Thanks — |

Hi again, Looks like we’re still having issues with our event listings. Our page is empty again. Are we supposed to be including the event dates if we want the events posted indefinitely? We’ve been leaving that section blank without issue for sometime. Here’s the link: Thanks for your help. |
Hi, the event doesn’t appear to have a start date and start time. A start date is needed for all events. An end date is optional (e.g. ongoing event). Could you retest with a start date and a start time? Thanks — |

Hi Lorenzo, I’ve included a start date: 2/5/15 and start time 12:01am (though I don’t think the start time isn’t necessary.) The events are still not displaying on our website… Also, when I preview the page it’s saying that “registration is closed”. We don’t want it to say that (and it hasn’t before). I’ve tried removing the registration end date, still nothing. Thanks. |
Hi, it looks like the event registration page is in a child page. Could you move it so its a parent page? example.com/event-registration/ Also, could you setup and enable the theme testdrive plugin and let us know if anything is visible when another theme is running? — |
